Our Booster Club members channeled the spirit of giving and delivered the toys from Chamlian’s Toy Drive to ANCA PN’s Holiday Drive. Chamlian’s Booster Club thanks all our families who contributed to this event, allowing us to make such a sizable contribution!

To celebrate the season, our first grade students “climbed aboard” the Polar Express for a week long unit. To end the celebration, students came to school wearing pajamas and cuddled with blankets and stuffed animals as they watched the “Polar Express” while they enjoyed eating popcorn and drinking cocoa.

On Thursday, December 19th, the 5th grade Eastern Armenian classes had the pleasure of hearing Mrs. Sona Rostomyan present her book, Talks with the Future. Mrs. Rostomyan, an author, educator, and grandmother to one of our own Chamlian students, read an Armenian tale from the book and shared the importance of learning and speaking Armenian along with keeping a connection with our homeland.
Mrs. Rostomyan also shared a video highlighting her family’s visit with young cancer patients at the Hematology Center in Yerevan.

Սոնա Ռոստոմեանը այցելեց Շամլեան վարժարան և հանդիպելով 5-րդ կարգի աշակերտների հետ, ընթերցեց «Ճանապարհի Քարտեզը»՝ գրքի խրատական պատմուածքը, որը մեծ խանդավառութիւն առաջացրեց աշակերտների համար: Վերջում հեղինակը դրուատեց Շամլեան վարժարանում իրականացուող հայեցի դաստիարակութեան և մայրենի լեզուի ուսուցման նուիրական գործընթացը:

Christmas fun and bonding between grade levels! Our Student Council Tigers from Jr. High spending time with our 4th Grade Tigers and getting their creativity flowing by making and designing ornaments — and having a blast along the way!

Our special visitor, Grandfather Mr. Garabedian, came on behalf of Santa Claus to share the beautiful message of Christmas! He brought plenty of treats for our Tigers and enjoyed singing Christmas carols and hearing the beautiful recitations our students had prepared.

On December 9th-15th, in celebration of Computer Science Education Week, Chamlian students continued to integrate coding during their STEAM and computer classes. Coding is a set of instructions created to complete a task. Coding helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic, and creativity. By starting early, students have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path. As part of our technology curriculum at Chamlian, students code through the building and application of the design-thinking process throughout the year!

Our Kindergartners have spent the week reading and learning about gingerbread. After making their own dough and placing it in the oven, they realized that their gingerbread cookies have run away! They spent the day searching for their cookies, until they finally found them in their classroom. The fun never ends here at Chamlian!

Our talented First Grade Tigers spent some time at the Armenian Prelacy showcasing their musical talents in our annual Christmas program! We thank His Eminence Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian for welcoming our students and sharing his Christmas message with them.

Today our young Tigers spread the magic of Christmas to their parents during Kindergarten's Parent Visitation Day. Our students performed Christmas songs, poems, and jokes to make the spirit of Christmas come alive. Our parents also had the opportunity to create art with their children through fingerpainting. Smiles all around as the Christmas spirit continues to fill Chamlian! Thanks to all who made our special breakfast and Christmas-themed clothing day a hit; as always, our creative Tigers had a blast coming to school in their favorite Christmas gear!
