Third grade students visited the Columbia Space Center as part of their science curriculum. Students participated in a variety of hands on activities related to space as well as had the opportunity to practice coding in the robotics lab. In an effort to spark students’ interest in spelling and expanding their vocabulary, Chamlian conducts an annual Spelling Bee competition open to students in grades 4 through 6. To begin, each classroom conducts an internal Spelling Bee, after which each teacher submits the names of three finalists to compete in the school wide competition. We are proud of all our finalists and the first place winner, Joseph Hairapetian, who will go on to compete in the LA County Spelling Bee! Dr. Kargodorian was very proud of all the students. Shakespearience! The 8th graders made their annual trip to Alex Theatre for the Shakespearience field trip. Our Kindergarten and First Grade students gathered at the Anita Torosian Literacy and Resource Center for Chamlian’s Annual Pajama Storytime! Our youngest Tigers enjoyed their Friday afternoon together with a delicious meal, decorations, and exciting guest speakers who read to them! Thank you to all who volunteered their time and entertained the children with colorful stories and helped to nurture their love of books and reading. The final round of the Geography Bee at the school-wide level was held today! Students from 6th-8th grade who had moved forward to the school-wide level of the Bee participated in seven exciting rounds. 8th grader Nicholas Hagobian was declared our 1st place school-wide champion! Nicholas will take a written test for an opportunity to move on to the next round at the state level.
