Every year, over 10,000 students from public and private schools from the Glendale, Montrose, and La Crescenta areas participate in the “I Love my Neighborhood” contest. The purpose of the contest is to educate elementary school-aged children, grades K-6, about subjects such neighborhood pride, graffiti prevention, litter, and pollution prevention. It is organized by Glendale Clean and Beautiful, which addresses community and neighborhood issues with each year’s contest theme addressing a specific topic. The poster contest encourages our students to express the positive feelings they have for their neighborhood by depicting subject matter in their works of art. This year, the “I love my Neighborhood” poster contest theme was “ Say No to Graffiti.” Aleek Krikorian from 1st grade, Natalie Davidian from 3rd grade, and Nanar Shahinian from 6th grade were our finalists’ winners. Out of 10,000 finalists, Nanar Shahinian made it to the top 5th group! Congratulations to our talented students for their hard work, dedication, and creativity. We are very proud of them! A special thank to you Ms. Helen Akbari for her leadership throughout this entire project and for instilling creativity and the love of art in our students 💙🎨🖍🖌

📍*Proud Chamlian Tigers Moment!*📍During this years California State Science Fair, almost 1,000 students participated from over 400 different schools in California. Over 800 projects were presented in an effort to earn recognition for their hard work and dedication. We are tremendously proud to announce that our Chamlian Tigers participated and shined throughout the judging process and came home with amazing accomplishments! Our winners are as follows: Shant Koutnouyan, 1st Place; Michael Baghdassarian, 4th Place; Gary Shirikchian, Jake Grigorian, Keghon Kasparian, & Vahan Kordian, Honorable Mention.
To place in such high rankings in a state-wide science fair is a huge success and accomplishment. We are sure this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the monumental and groundbreaking success they will no doubt pride us with in the future. A special thank you to our State Science Fair Coordinator and Science Department Head, Ms. Lida Gevorkian for her excellence in leadership and guiding our students throughout the entire process!

Our Books & Burgers event was a huge success! What a fun-filled day meeting authors, drawing scenes from our favorite books, and enjoying some delicious burgers made by our very own dads! A special thanks to the Books & Burgers Committee of dedicated parents whose tirelessly efforts made this event a huge success!

Our students explored the world of gardening with Dr. Mireille Hamparian! Our tigers learned all about gardening, from planting to after-care to how they grow and how they stay healthy! Students worked hands-on in our garden planting new fruits and vegetables for all to enjoy in the coming months! A special thank you to Dr. Mireille Hamparian for her time and dedication to our school!

Our Chamlian Tigers arrived to their Homeland with a strong sense of pride and a thirst to delve into their rich culture. They look forward to exploring our unique heritage!

We had a special visitor come and read to our little Tigers! They had a blast listening to an Easter story, learning about this sacred holiday, and enjoying special treats!

Our Chamlian students gathered together for a touching outdoor assembly, candle-lighting, and tree planting ceremony (dedicated by the Yetenekian Family). Our keynote speaker, Ms. Ani Berberian, filled our students with awe regarding their proud heritage and the resilience of our people. A special thanks to Ms. Suzy Pashayan, our music teacher for her dedication and teaching these beautiful songs to our students! She explained why our tree this year was named after “Agn”. Afterwards, our Tigers participated in a Walk-A-Thon to the Western Prelacy where they were met by Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian and fellow clergy-men and enjoyed a memorial service.

Proud of our amazing Athletic Program, our dedicated Athletic Director, Mr. Tomik Iranosian, Ms. Arpi Babakhanyan, all of our coaches, and, of course, our Tigers! We had an amazing Sports Night honoring our Tigers and celebrating all the accomplishments they made! Over 70% of our students participated in our sports program this year bringing home 36 trophies and placing in 1st place overall in Basketball, 2nd place overall in Track & Field, and 2nd place overall in Volleyball! Thank you to our donors, Edna’s Coffee, Builder’s Team, and the Baghdassarian Family, whose sponsorship made Sports Night a success!

Our Tigers had the pleasure of listening to a message of healing and forgiveness by our loving clergy from the Western Prelacy before they got communion. After, we enjoyed a sweet Donut Sale! What a way to start the week! 😍
