My role as Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Chamlian Armenian School combines my love for teaching with my unwavering commitment to academic excellence! I have worked in the field of education for twenty years and have proudly been at Chamlian since 2015.
Educational Background:
- BA in English from UCLA (2005)
- Master’s in Education from Pepperdine University (2008)
- California Teaching Credential with CLAD (Cross-Cultural, Language, and Academic Development) from Pepperdine University and cleared by the State of California Commision on Teacher Credentialing.
I began teaching in 2005, covering English and Social Studies for middle and high school students, including Creative Writing and American Literature. My adventures through student teaching during my credentialing experience further solidified my passion for teaching.
From 2008 to 2015, my experience expanded to include a range of English courses from Honors to AP levels, alongside developing UC/College Board approved curricula. I also taught co-curricular courses, such as Journalism and Drama. Beyond the classroom, I took pride in roles like Student Council Advisor and National Honors Society Advisor, deeply enriching my connection with school communities.
My aim at Chamlian is to uphold a curriculum that not only meets educational standards but also sparks curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking among our students. I believe in fostering an environment where educators feel supported and students are prepared for the future as 21st century learners.
