Tatev Khachikyan

Hello! My name is Tatev Khachikyan, and I am honored to serve as the Library Specialist at Anita Torosian Literacy and Resource Center at Chamlian. I am very excited to join the team and foster a love for reading and learning among our students.  

Educational Background:

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Slavic Languages and Literature, with a focus on Armenian studies, from the University of California, Berkeley. My academic journey also includes an Associate of Arts in Armenian Studies and English Literature from Glendale Community College, where I deepened my passion for language, literature, and cultural studies. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in English Literature at the University of California, Irvine, with an expected graduation in 2025. This ongoing education allows me to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the literacy and resource center.

Work Experience:

Prior to joining Chamlian, I have had the pleasure of working in various educational and administrative roles that have shaped my approach to student engagement and resource management. As an Afterschool Teacher for 1st to 4th graders, I cultivated a nurturing environment that encouraged curiosity and a love for learning. My time as a Lead Administrative Assistant at UC Berkeley's Music Department further honed my organizational skills and my ability to manage educational resources effectively. I also gained valuable experience in student services during my tenure at the Career and Job Placement Center at Glendale Community College, where I supported students in their career aspirations.

Interests & Hobbies:

Outside of my professional life, I am deeply passionate about literature, particularly Armenian literature, which has been a significant part of my academic focus. I enjoy exploring the rich narratives of both classic and contemporary works, often finding inspiration in the stories that connect us to our heritage.
