The Math curriculum encourages critical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem solving. Students use various manipulatives, models, diagrams and procedures as they develop and share problem-solving strategies. Students are encouraged to become analytical thinkers with the ability to make connections between the mathematical concepts they learn in the classroom with real-life situations.
Chamlian's math program is aligned with the California State Standards. To learn more about the standards, review the California Math Standards online.
The Math League annual contest brings challenging math materials and experiences to students. The goal of the contest is to encourage students' interest and confidence in mathematics. Our 4th - 8th grade students participate in the contest every spring, the winners of which are announced at a special award ceremony.
