Resource Center Assistant (6th Grade):
Advisor- Ms. Tatev
The Chamlian Anita Torosian Literacy & Resource Center welcomes 6th-grade students to become Resource Center Assistants (RCAs). In this role, students will help foster a nurturing environment within the library. Responsibilities include shelving books, maintaining the organization of resources, assisting peers with catalog searches and locating materials, and contributing to library displays and reviews. This role is pivotal in maintaining the library's welcoming atmosphere and supporting our academic community. Active participation may also offer the exciting opportunity to join a field trip specifically arranged for RCAs.
Marketing and Creative Content Club (7th and 8th Grades):
Advisor- Ms. Paulina
A unique opportunity for 7th and 8th graders to immerse themselves in the world of marketing and content creation. Members will embark on a journey of learning and innovation, from leading content creation initiatives to mastering the essentials of marketing and navigating social media responsibly. This club is not only about crafting engaging videos; it’s a platform for expressing Chamlian's spirit and values while gaining real-world skills in digital communication.
ApplicationDesign Club (7th and 8th Grades):
Advisor- Ms. Patille
Chamlian's Design Club offers a vibrant space for art and design enthusiasts to explore their creativity. This year, the club is embarking on an ambitious project to design and produce a commemorative magazine in honor of Chamlian’s 50th anniversary. Members will experience the full design process—from conception to print production—gaining invaluable hands-on experience in graphic design and creative expression.
Tech Club (7th and 8th Grades):
Advisor- Baron Varant
For students fascinated by technology, the Tech Club provides an essential service to our school community. Tasks include daily checks of Chromebook carts, troubleshooting devices, managing technology inventory, and assisting faculty with tech-related tasks. This club offers a behind-the-scenes look at the technological backbone of our school, fostering skills in IT management and problem-solving.
Deadline and Selection:
Please review the available club options pertinent to your grade and apply by Friday, September 27. Successful applicants will be notified of their selection by Friday, October 4.
Club Meetings & Membership:
Our clubs will meet during recess, lunch, and in some instances, after school—with prior approval from parents. Admission into these clubs is determined through an application process, highlighting our commitment to providing a focused and rewarding experience for all involved.
Eligibility Criteria & Club Policies:
Eligibility for club membership is based on several criteria detailed in the student handbook, including being a current junior high student, maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA, and having a clean disciplinary record. Please note, students may be removed from clubs if they fail to meet these criteria during their membership.
