All 8th graders, while dressed as their favorite literary characters, participated in reading to students in grades 2nd-5th. Some read Dr. Seuss books while others read traditional Armenian titles, Kach Nazar and Anahid. The first grade students wore their hand-made Dr. Seuss hats as they listened to Green Eggs and Ham read by guest reader and Chamlian alumna, Alena Hacopian. First graders were later treated to a special breakfast of green eggs and ham to celebrate the special occasion.
At 10:40 A.M., with Dr. Kargodorian's enthusiastic greeting over the intercom, all students were invited to “Drop Everything and Read” to honor Dr. Seuss and celebrate reading.
We extend our appreciation to our guest reader, our 8th grade students, and the entire Chamlian family for making Read Across America Day a success!
